Finally!

Been a bit busy lately, so I've been slacking on the blog...my bad!

But last night Justin and I FINALLY got to go out on a date, just the 2 of us. THANK GOODNESS!! His boss' family (the wife and kids) watched sweet little Clayton for us. We have gone on a few smaller dates, like to Ixtapa or out to dinner with friends. But just the 2 of us, its been since my bday dinner back in November. So last night was such a treat :)
Not from date night, but I love my hubby :)

We went to the Outback Steakhouse in Eastgate (Bellevue area). Boy was it YUMMMMMMMMY!! I had the special, 6oz sirloin with lobster mac and cheese + 2 sides. I'm usually not a huge steak eater but once in a long while I'll eat, especially if its with lobster mac and cheese!! I love, love, love cheese. Guess it's my Wisconsin roots (kinda, not really) coming out.

Wish I would of gotten pictures last night, but I forgot. FAIL! But I will say I was looking fancy :) Actually wore my hair down during the week SHOCKING, I know. But its hard to wear my hair down while hanging out with Clayton because he loves to get a handful of it (mommys know what I'm talking about!) And I made my make up a little more polished then usual, I know Outback isn't the fanciest place, but it was a date so I wanted to look as pretty as I could :)

Well........ menu for tonight!
A sorta Chicken parm. I got these parm encrusted chicken breasts from Safeway, I don't usually get the pre made/pre marinated from the grocery store, but they were on special the other night so I thought, why not?!? And with the chicken I'm going to make some pasta with it, and fingers crossed everything will turn out yummy! Usually does but always get nervous making something a bit different.

Will let you all know how dinner turns out! ANDDD tomorrow Clayton and I are having lunch with my dad, so I am hoping to get lots of cute pics of those 2 together.

Till next time
Michelle!

Teen mom...

A MUST have! Iced, non fat, white mocha!! <3

Believe it or not I am 24! I know very shocking!!! Because I get asked more then I should if I’m 19 or something. Or I get those looks from women like “I’m sorry” and its getting really uncomfortable. I’m not one for confrontation, but sometimes I just want to yell at those people! Or say sorry I don’t qualify for a MTV reality show, but I’d chicken out or apologize like crazy after yelling at them. I was having a moment after I got home from Target today, so I texted my bestie, my sister and just needed to have a vent session. I guess when I’m much older I’ll appreciate looking younger, but right now not so much. So I/we (Carrie included) have a question for you all, what would make me look a bit older?? But I have conditions; I can’t really cut my hair short because 1 I have curly hair and shorter it gets curlier it gets, and 2 I have a little one so I need to be able to pull it all up out of my face. So….. talks amongst yourself, I already gave you the topic. I’ll wait…………………
With my boy!

Ok while those thoughts are digesting in your brain I’ll move on……

Dinner on Tuesday turned out yummy!! And was a great lunch for Justin on Wednesday and last night I didn’t need to make dinner (SCORE!) because we were at Cheyenne’s (our dog) boyfriends house. While Duke and Cheyenne had their date Justin, Clayton and I hung out with “nana and papa” they are unofficial family members so we go over there and have dinner every so often.  Always a fun time!
Clayton passsssed out on Justin while Chey and Duke play

But tonight I will making some din din! Tonight’s menu will be

Chicken thighs (pretty sure I picked thighs…lol)
Marinated in Soy sauce (low sodium, keep reading to find out why) Dark brown sugar, and garlic salt( <-- that’s the reason for low sodium soy sauce!)

And with portions it all depends on my mood, if I want more garlicky I’ll put more of the garlic salt in, if not I’ll use less. I got this marinade idea from someone, I can’t remember who, but I think it was one of my clients. It turns out really good! This also works well for chicken wings, if you’re like me and don’t like those super hot, spicy chicken wings you’ll LOVE making this for your wings! I usually slow cook them in a crock pot, 4-6 hours I find works perfect for me J

Till next time my loves!
PS
Here's what we got at Target today
Some must haves!

This weekend...

This weekend I did…

We had a 3ish day weekend! Not because we were celebrating any holidays, but because our little household was sick and thankfully Clayton didn’t get it (knock on wood) Justin got the stomach bug that was going around so he was down for the count, I got a very mild version of it (thank goodness!!) but still had to call out of work on Saturday. Saturdays is my one day of work for the week, my day for uninterrupted adult conversation. Hahaha!! I feel very blessed that I get to stay home during the week and take care of our little man. And this weekend I had to take care of my 2 men J We are feeling much better and back to business!

Yesterday Clayton has give 4 month check up and just as suspected he is a BIG boy, not fat just growing like crazy! He is in 90+% for everything, his weight is 16lbs 12oz (90%) and his height is 27 inches (95%). He also had a few shot L hard on mom and dad but he handled it like a champ! He held dads hand (well finger) and only cried a little then was back to his happy self and flirting with all the ladies.
Happy boy after his doctor's appt

On our menu for tonight:

Slow cooked pork spare ribs (boneless) marinated in brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and a touch of honey. Going to be cooking them for 2 ½ to 3 hours on 275. (My secret put a few strips of bacon on top to keep meat moist and tender and the mister loves bacon!) My inspiration for this combo is from BBQ Pitmasters, LOVE this show the only down side is I can’t have the BBQ they make since they’re all in the south and I’m in WA.
Dinner in the making!

Side dishes:

Bakes yams, haven’t decides on to make them twice baked or just regular baked. Ohhh decisions, decisions!

This week we will most likely have a crazy adventure to Target (favorite place!) And maybe visiting Miss Cheyenne’s bf, Duke Marlette, Cheyenne loves visiting because they get to play, wrestle and even have dinner together!
Clayton and Hermie, the lady killers! At our fav place Target!

Till next time my loves!

hey good lookin whatcha got cookin?!?

One of my BIG loves is cooking/baking!! I grew up helping, or what I like to call helping my grandmothers and my mom in the kitchen. So when I see a recipe that looks yummy I’ll give it a shot.

One thing I am still mastering is making bread, for a wedding present Justin and I got a bread maker. Which I am in LOVE with!  At first I was nervous to make my OWN bread but once I got over that fear and made my first loaf I was feeling more confident with it. I know that using my bread maker is kinda cheating but with a little guy in the house I can’t actually make the bread myself, and a goal of mine is to try (key word TRY) to make things from scratch. I believe this is a dying art, actual HOMEMADE goodies! I absolutely loved making goodies with my grandparents and still do when I get the chance. And I can’t wait to teach Clayton to cook, because I believe if you include the littles in the kitchen they’re more likely to try new things (my mom did this!)

I’ll share some of my fav recipes, even though with a lot of things I don’t have an ACTUAL recipe written down. I do lots of cooking by making it up as I go, or add a little this and little that! Like my mamma J With baking I follow the directions because if you don’t follow those you never know what you’ll get! Haha!!

This recipe I found on allrecipes.com and I thought I’d give it a shot, I have been in search of different bread recipes to put in my recipe book (well 3 ringed binder). This one is super easy, only a few ingredients and makes a really yummy bread!

Math Time!

Clayton John
He is our first born, well our first human child. Cheyenne is technically first born but she is our fur baby.
Cheyenne driving her Rzr
Our little monkey was born Saturday September 15th 2012 at 11:12pm he was 6 days late! Needless to say mom was VERY uncomfortable his fav place to kick was my ribs, ughhhh. So I was ohh so happy when I could have those back. But I will say everything was allll worth it when I got to hold him!
Little Baby Clayton just born!
Guess what?!?
Clayton was the best surprise I could ask for! And this is coming from a person that DOES NOT like surprises. He was a surprise because his mom and dad weren’t expecting this little bundle of joy this year. Justin and I were in the middle of planning our wedding and there was a wrench thrown into the mix. We had all the big parts of the wedding planned and set, the dress, venue, cake (cupcakes) all set and even had deposits on things andddd well… someone else had another plan for us.  In the end of February I took a little test just for the heck of it and it said it was positive, shock was my first thought, no tears just a little shock; then went right from the bathroom at work back to doing my co-workers hair, played it off like nothing was going on! I had no sickness, just a few more migraines then usual so I really thought nothing of it. Boy was I wrong!!!
Telling Justin
I’m reallllly good at beating around the bush when I need to tell a loved one about something important. Sooo telling Justin I was preggo was no different. I don’t even remember the exact words I told him, but it was when he got home from work that evening, and he was a little speechless and when that set in he was super excited! As was I J
Justin first holding Clayton
Why’d you choose Clayton John…?? Well I’ll tell you!
His daddy was the one that thought of that precious name. I didn’t even have my first doc appointment with my lady doctor, (and Justin was convinced that we were having a boy) and he came home and asked what I thought about Clayton?!? My first response was Clayton who?? Haha!! And once I realized he was talking about baby names I of course loved it! Then my task was to come up with a middle name or names. Justin has 2 middle names so I was almost thinking giving our little man 2 middle names, but then we both agreed that might be a little tooo much. So I thought John would be a perfect and a great way for Clayton to be connected to the Feutz side (my maiden name) because my dad’s name is John, my grandpa’s middle name John (Robert John) and my great grandpa’s name John. Justin also added that since my dad didn’t have a boy it would be really great to give his 1st grandchild his middle name! But we kept his name a secret till he made his grand entrance into the world. We wanted to keep it special for us, and part of me was wanting to make 100% sure he was a he, lol!

More about my pregnancy later, don’t want to give away every exciting detail J
Till we meet again

Welcome to the wild and crazy life of Michelle

Here goes nothing……again..

HELLO EVERYONE!! (Whoever, if anyone that may be out there)

Allow me to introduce myself, I am Michelle! I have 2 wonderful little ones, a cute little black lab (female) and a precious little boy Mr. Clayton John. I am also married to my best friend, Justin. My little family is my everything; LOVE them with all my heart!

Why I am writing this lovely blog…? Well I’ve been toying around with the idea of starting one and my dear friend Kristine inspired me to start. I may warn all of you (probably all 2 of you, lol) I may not write all the time, but I will try my hardest to write a little something once a week.

Little more about me…? Oh sure why not! I am a hair stylist by day and a mommy by night! I have been doing hair for about 5 years now (including schooling). I love, love doing hair! Making someone look and feel better is one of the best feelings in the entire world! To do hair you need to be a people person, so naturally I fell right into this profession. J But we’ll talk more about this later…Don’t worry I have a few hilarious stories, more later!

About my little family! Clayton is my little son, Justin and I were blessed with this little bundle of joy on September 15, 2012. Our little monkey was almost a week late! Needless to say this little 8lbs 11oz boy was very comfy, mommy wasn’t but he was. He is almost 4 months old and boy does time FLY! Everyday something new and exciting, example, as I write this he is attempting to grab his toes on his little play mat. Sooo cute! Our other child’s name is Cheyenne Lynn (mommys middle name!) She is a 3 year old black lab, Birthday August 23, she is our princess!! Our first baby and yes she still sleeps in our bed J Her world was turned upside down when we brought home this tiny human, didn’t know what to think about him but now she is VERY overprotective of her little human. And trust me you all will see a TON of pictures of these two little, precious ones J ps I love smiley faces!

Now a little about my hubs JJustin, he is my best friend, I am so lucky to be with him! We started dating almost 5 years ago, 2008! We’re old school and he asked me to be his girlfriend on March 6, 2008 (none of this assuming or guessing that we’re exclusive). Seems like just yesterday we started are crazy, wild adventure. Time sure does fly by! We have been on many adventures and I’m positive we’ll have many, many more! We have been married since May 1st,2012 (yes if you’re doing the math of our little one, I’ll explain more later). Our wedding day was one of the most fabulous days; we were married in Hawaii at sunrise, yes sunrise! On the island of Oahu couldn’t of asked for a better setting, then in June was had a fun, laid back reception for all of our family and friends to celebrate.

Well, I don’t want to give away too much, or be emotionally slutty. (In the word of Carrie Bradshaw..Sex and the City, one of my fav shows!)

Till next time!
PS Still trying to figure out how to do this, so this first one may be a little "boring" looking.
